I haven't really been out and about taking photos lately. I'm essentially learning as I go and I still have a great deal to learn. I showed my sister these photos and she was surprised when I told her they were taken in the backyard. It's interesting how photography can challenge your perception and allow you to see things from a different perspective. I can hear the rain slowly falling upon the roof and the trickle of rainwater down the roof gutter. I felt a burning sensation from the antiseptic explode around my grazed knee. I have learned an important lesson, do not cross the road whilst you are tremendously drowsy. Thankfully there were no cars on the road, I picked up my belongings and limped home. It was just a bad week for me. I've secured myself a job over the holiday and I rather look forward to it. I plan to enter the  Canon Photo5  competition, I just haven't had much inspiration the last few days. I don't anticipate on winning but it certainly seems appealing. The competition seems like a great way to challenge one's perception, to be creative, to take something ordinary and turn it into something extraordinary.  I tend to erupt in sheer contempt when someone taunts me, I've learned to conceal that now. I find myself avoiding certain people and situations because I know I can't hold my ...

I was told by a lecturer that a certain essay I wrote was not personal enough, I do struggle with writing in first person. The only chance I ever have of writing in first person, is essentially here. Maybe I'm just so accustomed to writing in third person, I prefer to stay away from anything personal. My apologies for the tardiness of this update, I still cannot manage my time efficiently. Since taking this HR subject, Helen, has inspired me through her teaching. I feel it would be a shame if she leaves her post after this mid semester break. The original lecturer is returning and I do dread that. I still recall taking Helen's class some semesters ago, I never missed a class. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge. I've pondered excessively over something she shared in class, ' know thyself '. Now I know what I want. I suppose the real question is... Have I changed? Is it for better or for worse? I don't have a discrete answer. Every coin has two si...

I went to the agricultural campus yesterday to attend a revision class. Honestly I didn't want to go, it was a grey day and I didn't sleep that night. But I wanted baklava and I wanted to visit the plant nursery near the campus, so I told my friend I'd come. The one hour train ride was somewhat therapeutic. Grey sky, rolling green pastures and the occasional appearance of farm animals. I always feel content when I randomly decide to visit this campus, maybe seeing all that green made me feel at ease. The class was well worth attending, I wish I had bothered to make the trek there every week. The class at my campus was alright, but not fantastic. People seem friendlier at this campus, a stranger in the class offered me their notes from last week. This was primarily where I wanted to go to. I'm in love with the plant nursery next to the campus. I was really excited the first time I went because they had Serissa foetida plants. They remind me of my long dead bonsa...

I've been thinking and pondering, but I do believe I did the right thing. Sometimes disappearing is the best option, maybe it is not befitting for all situations... I see disappearing as the end and as means of protecting either yourself or the intended party. For the most part, I was trying to protect the latter mentioned. But I cannot deny that I also intended to protect myself, for I am merely a selfish person. I'm still having trouble sleeping, those pills aren't magic pills. I was awake til 5am last night, I simply could not fall asleep. Before I knew it, I was tying up the laces of my runners and out of the house. I had long forgotten the liberation of jogging admist the cool and crisp air, but that sensation was soon awoken. I once enjoyed jogging or going to the gym because I just focused on what I was doing and didn't have to think. One step at a time, I followed the winding pathways, ran across the barren roads and into the intr...

T hings seem so out of order when I'm late, I really hate rushing about... Final exams are around the corner. Not to mention assignment deadlines are rushing at me at the speed of light. I heard an interesting conversation between two perfect strangers on the bus today. Man: "I like the thunder." Woman: "Whys that?" Man: "The thunder is frightening , yet it is also beautiful in many ways." I found that quite compelling, I've never seen thunder in that way... Thunder always seemed to frighten me, even at the supposedly "mature" age of 20. It must have something to do with being home alone as a child whilst a thunder storm raged ahead. I'm feeling stressed and a little grey, I don't cope so well with stress. I wish life could be easier . My friend told me something pretty funny back in high school, I was stressing with high school finals coming up. "Life isn't about rainbows and flowers."
